Stap binnen in het rijk van Mondo Perfetto, een meeslepende voorstelling van Corpo Máquina Society die in augustus in première gaat op Festival Boulevard. In deze unieke preview zal artistiek directeur Guilherme Miotto na 11 jaar weer zelf op het podium dansen, naast danseres Julia Nielsen en de Portugese klassieke percussionist Pedro Paixão.
In een open en gedeelde ruimte probeert Guilherme met deze voorstelling diep in het lichaam verborgen intenties te ontrafelen. Waarom? Om het wát met het wáár te verbinden. Hoe? Miotto's innovatieve aanpak benadert alle aspecten van zijn werk - aanwezigheid, gedachten, verbeelding, dans, muziek - als vibraties. Trillingen die ingezet kunnen worden om de scherpe randen te vervagen van de grenzen waarmee we onszelf in ons hoofd scheiden van elkaar en van de dingen om ons heen. Het wordt een oproep tot eenheid binnen een door onszelf veroorzaakte, verstrooide werkelijkheid.
Gedurende de voorstelling vertaald percussionist Pedro Bach's tijdloze sonates naar de resonante tonen van de houten Afrikaanse marimba, waarmee hij de kloof tussen traditie en innovatie overbrugt.

De Jeruzalemkerk vormde het decor voor de allereerste editie van OFF VENUE. Nu zijn we terug, op deze plek waar het ooit begon. De Jeruzalemkerk is de enige nog geheel intact gebleven kerk in Amsterdamse Schoolstijl. De kerk is gebouwd vanuit (getallen)symboliek; De vorm van het gebouw en terras, de steensoorten, en zelfs de lampen, betimmeringen en leuningen dragen in kleurstelling, vorm en materiaalkeuze symbolische verwijzingen. Net als in Mondo Perfetto, is in de Jeruzalemkerk elk onderdeel onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden.
Step into the realm of Mondo Perfetto, a captivating performance by Corpo Máquina Society premiering in early August at Festival Boulevard. In this unique preview, artistic director Guilherme Miotto will be dancing onstage himself again after 11 years, alongside dancer Julia Nielsen and Portuguese classical percussionist Pedro Paixão.
Together, they explore hidden intentions within the depths of the human body. Why? To forge connections between the 'what' and the 'where.' How? Miotto's innovative approach treats all aspects of his work - presence, thoughts, imagination, dance, music - as vibrations. These vibrations serve to blur the sharp edges of the boundaries that divide us mentally from each other and from the world around us. It's a call for unity within a reality of our own making.
Throughout the performance, percussionist Pedro transposed Bach's timeless sonatas onto the resonant tones of the wooden African marimba, bridging the gap between tradition and innovation.

The Jerusalem Church formed the backdrop for the very first edition of OFF VENUE. Now, we return to this place where it all began. The Jerusalem Church is the only remaining church in Amsterdam School style, still entirely intact. The church was built with symbolic significance; the shape of the building and terrace, the types of stones used, and even the lamps, paneling, and railings bear symbolic references in color, form, and material choice. Just like in Mondo Perfetto, every element in the Jerusalem Church is intricately interconnected.
